Human fetuses become active listeners in the last trimester of the pregnancy: Study

In the first days of their lives, French infants already cry in a different way to German babies. The PHOENIX trial is a European, placebo-controlled, Phase III study treating catecholamine-resistant patients in distributive shock with the Nitric Oxide (NO) scavenger Pyridoxalated Haemoglobin Polyoxyethylene Conjugate (PHP). The study was launched by Curacyte AG in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Spain, The Netherlands and in the United Kingdom in 2009.

Researchers reveal pathways that lead to the development of tissue-resident lymphocytes

Researchers from the University of Science and Technology of China) of the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS), teamed up with scientists from Aix Marseille University, discovered that hematopoietic progenitors possessed the differentiation potential to type 1 innate lymphoid cells in adult liver, and dissected the regulation mechanisms of such cell differentiation, revealing the pathways that lead to the development of tissue-resident lymphocytes.
