The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine's Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is one of eight otolaryngology training programs in the U.S. to receive the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Institutional Research Training Grant (T32) for interdisciplinary research training in otolaryngology.

SurModics, Inc., a leading provider of drug delivery and surface modification technologies to the healthcare industry, announced today that it has signed a License and Development Agreement with Roche and Genentech, Inc., a wholly-owned member of the Roche Group.
Scientists have developed a way to identify biomarkers for a wide range of diseases by assessing the antibodies we are making to the complex sugars coating our cells.
Being uninsured and pregnant in this country should be recognized as a risk factor for the health of the mother and baby, said the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) as the organization marked Cover The Uninsured Week (May 1-8, 2005).
