Asthma is the most common chronic illness in adolescents and children, affecting an estimated seven million children up to the age of 17 in the United States. Breuer of the Criminal Division, U.S. Attorney Terrence Berg of the Eastern District of Michigan and Daniel R. Levinson, Inspector General of the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) announced.
According to a new study, 4 in 10 health care professionals are turning up for work even when they are down with a contagious infection such as a flu. The study titled, "Working with influenza-like illness: Presenteeism among US health care personnel during the 2014-2015 influenza season", was published in the November issue of the American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC).
That men who have sex with men run a greater risk of HIV than others has been known since the virus was discovered. However a thesis from Karolinska Institutet now shows that it is a small sub-group of these men who account for the greater part of the risk increase.
Two studies show that modern high-sensitivity troponin I assays can help physicians to rapidly identify patients with a very low likelihood of having non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction.
