Scientists at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital have revealed how the tumor suppressor gene PTEN plays a more important role in pediatric rhabdomyosarcoma than was previously appreciated.
A team of community health workers has been able to improve control of Type 2 diabetes in a group of individuals from American Samoa – a medically underserved territory with a high prevalence of obesity, diabetes, and other cardiovascular risk factors, report researchers.
An examination of 200 of the top-selling cough/cold, allergy, analgesic and gastrointestinal over-the-counter liquid medications for children finds that there have been high levels of variability and inconsistencies regarding medication labeling and measuring devices, according to a study that will appear in the December 15 issue of JAMA. The study is being released early online because of its public health importance.
