A new study by the Harvard School of Public Health Project on the Public and Biological Security finds that the vast majority (94%) of air travelers would want public health authorities to contact them if they might have been exposed to a serious contagious disease on an airplane.

NGM Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. and MedImmune, the global biologics research and development arm of AstraZeneca, announced today that they have entered into an exclusive agreement to discover, develop and commercialize novel therapeutics from NGM's enteroendocrine cell program for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity.
People with Type 2 diabetes have two to four times the risk of cardiovascular disease compared to people without the disease. The best way for doctors to predict which diabetes patients are at the greatest risk for heart disease is to use a coronary artery calcium (CAC) test in addition to the most commonly used assessment tool, according to researchers at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
