Salk Professor Kay Tye has been selected as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) investigator, joining a prestigious group of more than 250 HHMI investigators across the United States who are tackling important scientific questions.
For several years, JDRF-funded researchers at the University of Virginia Center for Diabetes Technology have been hard at work designing an artificial pancreas system that would allow individuals with type 1 diabetes (T1D) to go about their daily lives and sleep through the night with less worry about life-threatening blood-sugar highs and lows.
VNUS Medical Technologies, Inc has announced that United States District Judge Maxine M. Chesney of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California issued a Markman order in the litigation brought by VNUS Medical Technologies against Diomed Holdings, Inc. and Diomed, Inc., AngioDynamics, Inc. and Vascular Solutions, Inc. (the "defendants").
The California Health Benefits Exchange, established under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to offer subsidized private coverage to most of the uninsured, represents an excellent opportunity to improve the quality and cost of healthcare in this state.
