A stringently designed web form with questions about foot ulcers, deformities and neuropathy will soon be brought into use to better protect the feet of people with diabetes. The tool is a result of research conducted at Sahlgrenska Academy.
PAREXEL International Corporation, a leading global biopharmaceutical services provider, today announced that it has enhanced its cardiac safety capabilities for early phase clinical development through an alliance with Mortara Instrument, Inc., which manufactures and distributes electrocardiogram (ECG) devices and related technology worldwide.
Dr. Tom Hudson, President and Scientific Director of the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research today welcomed the Government of Canada's announcement of support for cancer control with a renewal of the mandate of the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer for five years and $250 million in funding.
"It's generally understood that females respond more strongly to acute (immediate, short-term) stress than males," said Helmer Figueiredo, PhD, of UC's department of psychiatry. "Our research shows that this may also be the case in more clinically relevant chronic-stress conditions."
Some seniors, including some who voted for President Barack Obama, are concerned that health care reform could cut some of their Medicare benefits.
