HIV prevention services will be combined with access to gender-affirming hormonal therapy and peer health navigation to try to reduce the disproportionate percentage of transgender women who are HIV positive in an innovative study led by researchers at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHeath).
RaySearch Laboratories AB announces today that the license agreement with Varian Medical Systems has been restructured to add one new product, strengthen the collaborative product development efforts, and make it easier to add new capabilities and features to Varian's Eclipse™ treatment planning system. Eclipse software currently incorporates three RaySearch developments, including tools for biological evaluation, biological optimization, and conformal optimization.
The FDA has approved Botulinum Toxin Type A (Botox) to treat severe underarm sweating known as "primary axillary hyperhidrosis" that cannot be managed by topical agents such as prescription antiperspirants. Botox has already been approved for several other purposes.
According to recent reports from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 1 in 5 sexually active gay and bisexual men in America are HIV-positive and 44% of them are unaware of it.
