Despite stereotypes about college students resorting to black-market Ritalin to help them cram for exams, young people are actually most likely to start misusing prescription stimulant drugs in their high school years, according to new University of Michigan Medical School research.
Last month more than 250,000 personalized leaflets were sent out to women with a warning that a Conservative government would scrap a Labour guarantee that all suspected breast cancer patients would be seen by a specialist within two weeks of GP referral. They also claimed that the Conservative party will take away the right to be treated for cancer within 18 weeks. According to a Sunday Times report some of the recipients of this leaflet were cancer patients or cancer survivors.
Male circumcision is "a practice that - despite the evidence - has yet to be adopted as much or as fast as experts had hoped," the Financial Times reports.
The case centers on whether private health care providers can force the state to raise its Medicaid rates because of the rising cost of services.
A new paper published online in Nature holds out hope that people with the second most common type of lung cancer may one day benefit from targeted therapies that have transformed treatments for other lung cancer patients.
