Canadians face wait times of over 460 days in order to get access to new, potentially lifesaving medicines in public drug plans, according to a new IMS Brogan report commissioned by Rx&D. Overall, the report ranks Canada 16 out of 18 similar OECD countries.
Most non-traumatic fatalities among high school and college football athletes do not occur while playing the game of football, but rather during conditioning sessions which are often associated with overexertion or punishment drills required by coaches and team staff, according to research presented today at the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine Annual Meeting.
Women run a three times greater risk than men of incurring a debilitating injury in a rear-end collision. This is partly due to differences between the sexes regarding sitting position. This has been shown by Bertil Jonsson at Umea University in Sweden.
"In a move that is likely to raise the ire of HIV/AIDS activists, maternity clinics in Harare are conducting compulsory HIV/AIDS tests on pregnant women before they can register for delivery," the Zimbabwean reports, adding, "Scores of pregnant women in the high-density suburb of Glen-Norah told this newspaper that they were being asked to bring their spouses to be tested if they wanted to register to deliver their babies."
