New research from an immunology team at the University of Chicago may shed light on the challenges of developing a universal flu vaccine that would provide long-lasting and broad protection against influenza viruses.
Guided Therapeutics, Inc. today announced that it was awarded a $2.5 million matching grant by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to bring to market and expand the array features for its LightTouch™ non-invasive cervical cancer detection technology. The award provides resources to complete the regulatory process and begin manufacturing ramp up for the device and single-patient-use disposable.
Scientists have developed an endoscope that uses near-infrared light to spot early warning signs of oesophageal - food pipe - cancer, according to research published in the Journal of Biomedical Optics today.
In the UK alone, there are 14.6 million patients who are on repeat medication. Of those, some 11.6 million are over 65 years old and will be prescribed more than five ‘regular' items on their prescription.
