MassGeneral Institute for Neurodegererative Disorders (MIND) researchers have identified a compound that may lead to a treatment that could protect against the effects of Huntington's Disease (HD).
Kyocera Industrial Ceramics Corp., Orthopedic Division, today unveiled its new Orthopedic Design Center in Somerset, N.J., formed in collaboration with Japan Medical Materials Corporation (JMM) - a Kyocera Group company.
Virginia Health Information (VHI) released its 2009 Industry Report: Virginia Hospitals and Nursing Facilities, which identifies the most efficient and productive hospitals, nursing facilities and other health care providers. The report contains important information for businesses and health care purchasers including data on providers' costs, profits and charity care.
According to a research abstract presented at SLEEP 2009, the 23rd Annual Meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies, both long and short sleepers are at greater risk for diabetes. Individuals sleeping for more than eight hours per night may be particularly vulnerable.
The chairman of the House tax-writing committee has been laying the groundwork for advancing an overhaul of the tax code to scale back deductions and reduce rates.
