An innovative service model that partners radiation oncology with palliative care leads to better results for patients, according to a new analysis. The model of care, established at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, is one of only a handful in the country. The study will be presented at the upcoming 2015 Palliative Care in Oncology Symposium in Boston.
Researchers at University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and University of Colorado Boulder have discovered that unique and changing microbial communities present during decomposition of human cadavers may provide a reliable "clock" for forensic scientists. The method could be used to estimate time of death in different seasons, as well determine the original location of moved corpses and help locate buried corpses.
Researchers have found abnormalities in the way infants of parents with schizophrenia perceive the way they move and how this relates to vision, touch, hearing, and orientation.
