Unibased Systems Architecture, Inc. recently completed an integration of an anesthesia information management system, with an EHR where the key linkage is the Unibased award-winning ForSite2020 periOperative Resource Management System (ORMS) at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Expanding Orthopedics Inc., a leading company in the area of expanding orthopedics devices, announced today that it has started to enroll patients in Germany for its multi-center post-market study to evaluate the performance and usability of the XPED Expanding Pedicle Screw System.
Tenofovir gel, a vaginal microbicide that has shown promise for preventing HIV through vaginal sex, is being tested in a new trial looking at its safety and acceptability when used rectally. The results of the study, being led by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded Microbicide Trials Network (MTN), will help determine if the gel should be evaluated further for its potential to prevent HIV among both men and women who engage in receptive anal intercourse.
IBM today announced plans to enlist some of the company's leading scientists and technologists to help medical practitioners and insurance companies provide high-quality, evidence-based care to patients. As part of this initiative, IBM is collaborating with clinicians in medical institutions and hiring medical doctors to work alongside its researchers to develop new technologies, scientific advancements and business processes for healthcare and insurance providers.
Today, the OASIS study group will present initial results of the CURRENT-OASIS 7 clinical trial at the European Society of Cardiology congress in Barcelona.
