MacroGenics has announced that the company's investigational new drug (IND) application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its monoclonal antibody targeted to West Nile Virus is now active.
Every year at The Montreal Children's Hospital of the McGill University Health Centre, we look to members of the community to help make Christmas special for the young children who are not well enough to go home for the holidays. This year was no exception. In an effort to make sure we had enough toys and goodies for Christmas Day, we made an urgent appeal to the public last week and asked Montrealers to pick up extra dollies, stuffed animals, games and trucks so that we might be able to distribute toys to each and every child.
The new Deeplex®-MycTB mycobacterial antibiotic resistance test1, developed by GenoScreen, has been used by an international research team in a molecular epidemiology study published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases.
Specific types of "helper" T cells that are crucial to maintaining functioning immune systems contain an enzyme called PDI. This enzyme affects how proteins fold into specific shapes, which in turn influences how the T cells behave.
Medical error is the third leading cause of death in the US after heart disease and cancer, say experts in The BMJ today.
