Shionogi-ViiV Healthcare, LLC announced today that the first patient has entered the clinical study, SINGLE (ING114467), designed to support a new fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy for the treatment of HIV.
Though there has been considerable biological and political debate over the use of embryonic stem cells (ESCs) vs. adult stem cells (ASCs) as therapies for tissue engineering and organ transplants, inherent benefits and drawbacks in both techniques compel them to coexist and complement each other.
Checkpoint Surgical, Inc., a U.S.-based medical device company with proprietary neurostimulation technology for nerve protection and repair, announced the publication of the first peer-reviewed study comparing the use of its Checkpoint Nerve Stimulator/Locator to Medtronic's Nerve Integrity Monitor for neural monitoring during thyroid and parathyroid surgeries in the April 2019 edition of The Laryngoscope.
