Feeling shame about past instances of problem drinking may increase the likelihood of relapse and other health problems, according to a new study in Clinical Psychological Science, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science.
The current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan have resulted in extended and repeated combat-related deployments of U.S. military service members. While much has been reported about the problems, both physical and psychological, many bring back with them, new research out of UCLA shows that the family back home can have issues as well.
"With one billion people chronically hungry and Earth's population expected to increase by 50 percent before the end of the century, it's time to get serious about family planning," a Los Angeles Times editorial states.
On Monday, USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah "announced the launch of the agency's first-ever policy and program guidance on Building Resilience to Recurrent Crisis during an event in Washington, D.C.," according to an USAID press release.
