United Medical Systems announces the acquisition of MoBx Mobile Breast Services, a Vacaville, California-based company for an undisclosed cash amount. The acquisition expands UMS' stereotactic operations throughout Northern California. The earliest examples of "topical" anaesthetics contained cocaine, but now a new systematic review has shown that newer agents that don't contain cocaine can effectively treat pain caused by torn skin.

Aurora-A protein plays an important role in head and neck cancer

Researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia have found that a protein associated with other cancers appears to also be important in head and neck cancer, and may consequently serve as a good target for new treatments.
