Nasdaq Stock Market issues noncompliance letter to A.P. Pharma

A.P. Pharma, Inc. (Nasdaq:APPA), a specialty pharmaceutical company, today announced that, on September 15, 2009, the Company received a letter from The Nasdaq Stock Market (Nasdaq) indicating that the minimum closing bid price of its common stock had fallen below $1.00 for 30 consecutive trading days, and therefore, A.P. Pharma was not in compliance with Marketplace Rule 5450(a)(1).

New data shows a clear trend of supersized alcopop consumption among underage drinkers

Supersized alcopops are ready-to-drink flavored alcoholic beverages with high alcohol content that are disproportionately consumed by underage drinkers. There can be up to 5.5 standard alcoholic drinks in a single 24 ounce can, so consuming only one can of supersized alcopop is considered binge drinking, and consuming two cans can cause alcohol poisoning.

Kaiser Permanente, Intermountain Healthcare to participate in U.S. News Hospital Outcome Data Disclosure Program

Study examines whether obesity, smoking impact healing after wrist fracture surgery

Both obesity and smoking can have negative effects on bone health. A recent study led by a team at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center examined whether they also impact healing in patients who have undergone surgery for fractures of the wrist, or the distal radius, which are among the most common bone fractures.

Significant number of pediatric physicians fail to diagnose Kawasaki disease

Researchers at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine report in the August 10 issue of Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal that a significant number of pediatric physicians fail to diagnose Kawasaki disease in children younger than six months and older than eight years.
