As technology continues to change and grow, Nationwide Children's Hospital is keeping pace by unveiling a new combined operative and diagnostic MRI suite. Unlike a fixed MRI system, this structure offers the versatility of moving between three different rooms, ultimately utilizing the machine for two needs - intraoperative MRI diagnostics and non-operative diagnostic imaging.
Social competence and behavior problems that are evident at kindergarten and first grade are known to be strong predictors of a child's academic and social functioning. However, findings reported in the July issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry suggest that psychosocial risk factors can be identified even earlier and can be observed during the transition from preschool to formal schooling.
The main cause of death in women with breast cancer is spread of the original tumor to distant sites, a process known as metastasis. Immune cells known as NK cells help limit tumor progression and metastasis in animal models.
