GfK Healthcare, the largest provider of fully integrated custom health care marketing research in the United States, announced today the launch of Brand BEAT™ (Brand Equity Assessment & Tracking), a complete package of health care-specific brand positioning diagnostic tools for measuring the cognitive and emotional strengths of a brand.
Effective immediately, Cook Medical customers in the United States will again have access to its Evolution® RL and Evolution® Shortie RL Controlled-Rotation Dilator Sheath Sets. Distribution of these products within the U.S. market was suspended for two months while Cook's Lead Management clinical division worked with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to resolve agency questions about the marketing clearance of these products. The devices, which remained available in Europe and other markets, were not recalled by FDA.

The FDA clearance covers several key additions to the traditional EverOn contact-free patient supervision system value proposition. For the first time, the EverOn system includes an online display that alerts medical staff regarding a patient's motion level and verifies patient turns as indicated by nurses. Identifying low patient movement and then turning patients methodically are key elements in the prevention of pressure ulcers, the most costly patient safety risk in U.S. hospitals.
