One in four (24 per cent) Atlantic Canadians would be very likely to change their vote if the party they currently support fails to present a plan for the future of health care, according to a public opinion poll conducted for the Canadian Medical Association.
While the connection between oral health and systemic health has been well-established, what most people don't know is that dentists often are in a position to detect systemic conditions. According to an article published in the October 2010 issue of AGD Impact, the monthly newsmagazine of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), dentists may be the first health care providers to notice evidence of an eating disorder, such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and pica.
New data suggest that the drug Topamax and its generic versions increase the risk for the birth defects cleft lip and cleft palate in babies born to women who use the medication during pregnancy, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said today.
Researchers at the Center for BrainHealth® at the University of Texas at Dallas investigated the effects on the brain of concurrent cannabis and nicotine use, versus the use of solely cannabis and solely nicotine.
LifeVantage Corporation, the maker of science-based solutions to oxidative stress, announced today that the Company has received formal approval from the Mexican government to launch its flagship product, Protandim®, in Mexico.
