The North American Menopause Society is set to launch a first-ever menopause mobile app designed for use by both clinicians and patients to help manage menopausal symptoms and assess risk factors.
A new Joslin Diabetes Center-led study has shown conclusively that a neuropeptide, melanin concentrating hormone (MCH), found in the brain and known for its role in increasing appetite in people, plays a role in the growth of insulin-producing beta cells and the secretion of insulin.
A new paper, led by Dr Niamh Murphy at the Department of Cardiology at the University of Glasgow, reveals how hospitalisation for angina and chest pain has risen dramatically in the last decade. The paper, launched today on the British Medical Journal website, explores the enormous financial and service implications of this rise.
