Over the weekend, without a pressing deadline at hand, I sat down to read more closely the Supreme Court's Hobby Lobby decision, and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's strong dissent.
More than 11,000 Americans die each year from skin cancer. Yet when detected early, skin cancer has a cure rate of 99 percent. That's why dermatologists from the American Academy of Dermatology's National Melanoma/Skin Cancer Screening Program conducted free skin cancer screenings at the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville, held Aug. 20-30, 2009.
LUMEDX Corporation, a leading provider of vendor-neutral, integrated cardiovascular imaging and information systems (CVIS), announced the successful implementation of CardioInventory at nine Iowa Health Systems (IHS) affiliate hospitals. The final go-live at St. Luke's Medical Center in Cedar Rapids represents an important milestone in the ongoing installation of a centralized, enterprise-wide LUMEDX cardiovascular image- and data-management system for Iowa Health System.

While research has shown that poor cardiovascular health can damage blood flow to the brain increasing the risk for dementia, a new study led by UC San Francisco indicates that poor mental health may also take its toll on cognition.
