Researchers exploring the notion that certain nutrients might protect against pancreatic cancer found that lean individuals who got most of these nutrients from food were protected against developing cancer.
A new study demonstrates the superiority of a specific technique to perform anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction in children. In recent years, the number of ACL surgeries in pediatric athletes has skyrocketed.
New perspectives are opening up in bio-engineering thanks to research jointly carried out by teams of chemists at the University of Liège and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem within the framework of the European MOLOC project (Molecular Logic Circuits). This work has led to the publication of two important publications, one straight after the other, in the Nature Nanotechnology journal.
The BIOMARGIN (BIOMArkers of Renal Graft INjuries in kidney allograft recipients) research project, coordinated by INSERM, has just received financing from the "health" seventh framework programme of the European Commission to the tune of 6 million euros for a four-year period.
After publicly criticizing the president's proposed fix for plans that had been canceled under the health law and saying the District of Columbia might not go along, D.C.'s insurance commissioner was fired by the mayor's office late last week.
