The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation (RHWF) with the support of celebrity ‘Royal' Mum Ambassadors, has launched its new Mother's Day campaign, Me2Mum, where the gift of a flower will help raise vital funds for care of newborn babies and Mums at NSW's only hospital for women.
Researchers from Boston University School of Medicine report that a tumor suppressor pathway, called the Hippo pathway, is responsible for sensing abnormal chromosome numbers in cells and triggering cell cycle arrest, thus preventing progression into cancer.
Research suggests that maternal influenza during pregnancy may increase the risk for bipolar disorder with psychotic features in offspring, rather than being associated with bipolar disorder per se.
Results of a randomised trial in this week's issue of THE LANCET suggest that a more aggressive approach involving coronary angioplasty soon after anticlotting medical therapy is safe and could offer a better prognosis than more conservative treatment for patients who have had heart attack.
