CANCER RESEARCH UK scientists have found that 'jumping genes' may add to the genetic chaos behind more than three-quarters of oesophageal cancer cases, according to research published in BMC Genomics today (Friday).
Scientists at the University of Southampton have made a significant discovery in efforts to develop a vaccine against Zika, dengue and Hepatitis C viruses that affect millions of people around the world.
Earlier studies have shown a startling sevenfold increase in illnesses and deaths directly traceable to heroin use in the USA over less than 20 years. Along with this epidemic, HIV and hepatitis infections acquired by injections of drugs have also broken out in large clusters in many places. Yet, the extent of heroin use itself has been neglected. The current study looked at this overlooked area of research.
Biotage, a leading supplier of tools and technology for medicinal and analytical chemistry, today announced the eagerly awaited global launch of the Syro Wave™; their new microwave and parallel peptide synthesizer. The Syro Wave™ is a result of the joint development project announced last year between Biotage and MultiSynTech.
