A PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases study found how a new drug developed by scientists in China effectively kills roundworms – "a parasite that lurks in the intestines and which affects nearly two billion people in tropical countries," Reuters reports. "Roundworms are particularly harmful to children and pregnant women," Reuters writes.
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. today announced that data from four late-stage studies examining QNASL (beclomethasone dipropionate [BDP]) HFA, a nasal aerosol corticosteroid in development for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis (SAR) and perennial allergic rhinitis (PAR) symptoms, will be presented at the 2011 Annual Meeting of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) in Boston, Mass., November 3-8, 2011.
Pain is a common symptom and can be debilitating for patients with cancer. Clinically significant improvements in pain resulting from a cancer treatment can support drug approval and labeling claims in the United States, when it is adequately measured.
Hosted by Charité - Universitatsmedizin Berlin, the TrueBrainConnect project aims to systematically study connections between different areas of the brain, and hopes to draw conclusions regarding potential disease patterns.
