Chronix Biomedical today announced publication of a study that supports the utility of its serum DNA blood tests to predict clinical status and monitor disease activity and response to treatment in multiple sclerosis (MS). Chronix Biomedical uses proprietary technology to identify disease-specific genetic fingerprints based on the circulating DNA that is released into the bloodstream by damaged and dying cells.
A new study has found that the majority of residents in a rural village of Vietnam harbored multi-drug-resistant, colistin-resistant E. coli bacteria.
Researchers at Tufts Medical Center and collaborators discovered a new biological pathway for advanced age-related macular degeneration that implicates a role of the hepatic lipase gene, LIPC. This discovery will improve understanding of the disease by providing researchers another developmental pathway to explore for prevention and treatment.
