Active video games have been promoted to help kids be more physically active. But a new study finds that having active video games in the home may not translate into more exercise.
Kidney failure is associated with lower quality of life in young people and limited employment, independence, and relationships compared with healthy peers, according to an analysis appearing in an upcoming issue of the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan has added the University of Michigan Health System to its growing network of Medicare Plus Blue(SM) PPO providers. The move gives seniors who purchase the competitively priced plan access to all of the U-M hospitals and approximately 2,200 providers.
Bondi beach, a popular tourist hangout is under the scanner for smoking. The Waverly Council came up with a unanimous decision to ban smoking within 10 meters of the outdoor cafés in this popular tourist spot starting July this year.
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has awarded Integral Molecular a contract (75N93019C00073) which will provide up to $5.5M over the next five years to define antibody responses to pathogenic viruses including Zika, Marburg and equine encephalitis viruses, aiding the discovery of vaccines and therapeutics against these currently untreatable and often lethal viruses.
