Alliance HealthCare Services, Inc.,a leading national provider of outpatient diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy services, announced today that it has completed its offer to exchange (the "Exchange Offer") up to $190 million aggregate principal amount of its 8.00% series B senior notes due 2016 which have been registered under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended, for any and all of its outstanding 8.00% senior notes due 2016 which were issued in a private placement (the "Private Notes").
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved Prevnar 13, a pneumococcal 13-valent conjugate vaccine for infants and young children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. Prevnar 13 will be the successor to Prevnar, the pneumococcal 7-valent conjugate vaccine licensed by the FDA in 2000 to prevent invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) and otitis media. The new vaccine extends the protection to six additional types of the disease causing bacteria.
A research team from the Netherlands assessed the impact of wine and resveratrol (a natural polyphenol found in high quantities in red wine) on lung function. It also looked at genetic factors and mechanisms by which resveratrol might be absorbed by the body and its possible effect on longevity of life.
Recent toy recalls have brought attention to the issue of lead in toys. Unfortunately, significant quantities of lead can still be found in many ordinary products that parents buy for their children. Lead is very harmful to children.
