A new book edited by Chad D. Lavender, M.D., an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, explores novel minimally invasive techniques and technology for treating sports medicine and orthopedic injuries.
Sagent Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a privately-held specialty pharmaceutical company, today announced U.S. FDA's approval of four presentations of midazolam injection, USP, a general anesthetic. Sagent expects to launch midazolam, which will be offered in latex-free vials, in 2011. According to 2010 IMS data, the annual U.S. market for injectable midazolam approximated $52 million.
Nearly 300 people have died from cholera and 3,612 have been diagnosed with the disease in Haiti's week-old epidemic, Reuters reports, citing numbers from Haitian health authorities.
Affecting more than 7,000 U.S. babies each year, cleft lip and/or cleft palate are the second most common birth defect, the cause of which continues to mystify scientists despite growing evidence of a complex interplay of genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors.
