Improved care for patients undergoing cancer surgery is the focus of a pioneering worldwide study.
Cellectis, the genome engineering specialist, has announced its consolidated financial results for the financial year ended December 31, 2010.
For patients with serious, ongoing hip pain, sometimes surgery is their best bet for relief. Given the choice between minimally invasive hip surgery and total hip replacement, most patients would choose the less invasive procedure, often done on an outpatient basis.
Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death among American men. Yet population-wide screening programs have not reduced the number of deaths from the disease. By focusing screening programs on the men who are at greatest risk for aggressive disease or diagnosis at a young age, researchers think they could improve mortality rates and personalize the screening approach.
Nabi Biopharmaceuticals announced today that it has successfully completed the technology transfer of program know-how associated with the sale of the PentaStaphTM vaccine candidate to GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals S.A.. As a result of successfully completing this milestone, Nabi is eligible to receive $8 million under the agreement governing Nabi's sale of PentaStaphTM (Pentavalent S. aureus Vaccine) and related assets to GSK.
