St. Jude Medical, Inc., a global medical device company, announced today that it has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval of two new irrigated ablation catheters - the Safire BLU™ Bi-directional Irrigated Ablation Catheter and the Therapy™ Cool Path™ bi-directional ablation catheter.
A new drug has been shown to improve the brain function of people with early stage Alzheimer's disease and reduce a key protein associated with the disease in the spinal fluid, in a small study published today in the journal Lancet Neurology and presented at the 2008 Alzheimer's Association International Conference on Alzheimer's Disease.

The device records an electrocardiogram from Bill's fingers and - more importantly - circulation pulsing that makes his body subtly bob up and down. Machine learning tools compute that Bill's heart failure symptoms have worsened.
