An estimated 25 percent of children in remission from acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) are missing too many doses of an essential maintenance medication that minimizes their risk of relapse, according to a study published online today in Blood, the Journal of the American Society of Hematology.
JenaValve™ Technology, Inc., a medical device company specializing in developing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) systems, announced today a significant clinical milestone: the first-ever successful transcatheter implantation of a 27mm transapical aortic valve prosthesis.
New study, involving eight Italian research centres, concluded that an aligned approach to the treatment of advanced bladder cancer is much needed, while confirming previously published results on survival estimates of associated salvage therapies.
The not-for-profit organization Karunalayam last week opened a school in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh that plans to educate exclusively HIV-positive children who have been turned away by other schools, officials said Thursday, AFP/Today Online reports.
