Wednesday marked the one-year anniversary since a massive earthquake struck Haiti, the Miami Herald reports.
As part of Kaiser Permanente's culture of continuous improvement, the organization annually recognizes outstanding projects across the nation's largest integrated health system that advance quality and patient safety. Recently, three winners were honored for their efforts in supporting patient care through technology, advanced sepsis intervention and improving early detection of diabetic retinopathy.
Patients with hematological malignancy (PHM), also infected with COVID-19, were investigated for SARS-CoV-2 antibody responses while undergoing systemic anti-cancer therapy. While no obvious correlation is found between the serological results and the hematological diagnosis and the treatment, the immune response is similar to the severity of COVID-19 infection observed in the general population.
The Professional Development Center at The University of Texas at Austin is pleased to announce the fall launch of their new offering – the Medical Interpreter Certificate Program (MICP).
