Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has accepted for priority review the company's new drug application for the potential use of tolvaptan for the treatment of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease.
Researchers at the Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares Carlos III (CNIC), led by Dr. Alicia G. Arroyo, have identified a function of a protease that could be targeted for the treatment of some infections and even tumor metastasis.
New research has determined that patients in the U.S. with hepatitis C virus are twice as likely to not have health insurance coverage compared with those without the disease.
Magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles have already proven their utility for imaging metastatic breast cancer lesions in sentinel lymph nodes, and numerous groups are attempting to use iron nanoparticles in other imaging applications.
