High ceramide levels may increase a person's risk of AD

Higher levels of a certain fat in the blood called ceramides may increase a person's risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, according to a study published in the July 18, 2012, online issue of Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.

Study: Diabetes before pregnancy linked to increased risk of MRSA

When comparing the effects of red meat, poultry, fish or vegetarian diets to cancer development in specific subsites of the colon, a study found that those regularly eating red meat compared to a red meat-free diet had higher rates of distal colon cancer - cancer found on the descending section of the colon, where faeces is stored.
