Top-line results from Pfizer's ALO-02 Phase 3 study on chronic non-cancer pain

Pfizer Inc. announced top-line results today from a Phase 3 open-label long-term safety study of investigational agent ALO-02 (oxycodone hydrochloride and naltrexone hydrochloride extended-release capsules) in patients with moderate-to-severe chronic, non-cancer pain.

Vivaldi receives US patent for live attenuated influenza vaccines

Vivaldi Biosciences Inc. (Vivaldi), a biotechnology company focused on development of vaccines for influenza, today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued US Patent 7,588,768 covering live attenuated influenza vaccines (LAIVs) with modifications to the viral NS1 gene, and methods for producing the vaccines in cell culture systems.

Aspire Capital Fund to purchase Bionovo shares of common stock worth $15.0 million

Bionovo, Inc. (Nasdaq: BNVI) announced today that it has entered into a common stock purchase agreement with Aspire Capital Fund LLC, an Illinois limited liability company, which provides that, subject to certain conditions and limitations, Aspire Capital is committed to purchase up to an aggregate of $15.0 million of Bionovo shares of common stock over a two year term, based on prevailing market prices over a period preceding each sale.

Response to opinion piece saying global maternal health programs deserve more support

Occupational Therapists: An occupational therapist is a person who has graduated from an entry-level occupational therapy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) or predecessor organizations, or approved by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT), or an equivalent international occupational therapy education program; has successfully completed a period of supervised fieldwork experience required by the occupational therapy program; has passed a nationally recognized entry-level examination for occupational therapists, and fulfills state requirements for licensure, certification, or registration.
