VIB researchers have developed a mouse model for Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) neuropathy, a hereditary disease of the peripheral nervous system.

Phase II study results of Lilly Oncology's tasisulam for metastatic melanoma to be presented at 46th ASCO

Lilly released results today from a Phase II study evaluating Lilly Oncology's tasisulam, a novel anti-cancer agent, in patients with metastatic melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. Study results will be presented during the 46th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) held in Chicago, Ill. on June 6, 2010.

Study shows link between inflammatory biomarkers and prevalence of CAD in HIV-infected men

A cardiac imaging study led by Hossein Bahrami, MD, PhD, assistant professor of cardiovascular medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, along with investigators from Johns Hopkins University and five other institutions, showed a correlation between higher inflammatory biomarkers and an increased prevalence of coronary artery disease (CAD) in men infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

World's first Cs-131 implant for colorectal cancer performed at Weill Cornell Medical Center

IsoRay, Inc., announced today that on October 10, 2009, Dr. Bhupesh Parashar, Dr. A Gabriella Wernicke and Dr. KS Clifford Chao from the Department of Radiation Oncology, and Dr. Jeffery Milsom from the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, at Weill Cornell Medical Center performed the world's first Cesium-131(Cs-131) implant for the treatment of colorectal cancer.

Occupational Therapists: An occupational therapist is a person who has graduated from an entry-level occupational therapy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) or predecessor organizations, or approved by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT), or an equivalent international occupational therapy education program; has successfully completed a period of supervised fieldwork experience required by the occupational therapy program; has passed a nationally recognized entry-level examination for occupational therapists, and fulfills state requirements for licensure, certification, or registration.
