Spectrum initiates ZEVALIN and MGd Phase 2 combination study in NHL

Research findings could lead to new therapeutic approaches for liver cancer

Liver cancer (Hepatocellular Carcinoma, HCC) usually arises as the result of a chronic, inflammatory liver disease. EC approves Takeda's Entyvio for treatment of adults with ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease

Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Takeda Pharmaceuticals International GmbH, today announced that the European Commission has granted Marketing Authorisation for Entyvio (vedolizumab), a gut-selective humanized monoclonal antibody, and the first and only biologic therapy to be approved simultaneously for the treatment of adults with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis (UC) and adults with moderately to severely active Crohn's disease (CD) who have had an inadequate response with, lost response to, or were intolerant to either conventional therapy or a tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNFα) antagonist.

The Kyoto Heart study shows positive effect of valsartan on cardiovascular outcome

The KYOTO HEART Study, which took place in Japan between January 2004 and January 2009, shows that the addition of valsartan to conventional antihypertensive treatment to improve blood pressure control is associated with an improved cardiovascular outcome in Japanese hypertensive patients at high risk of CVD events.
