Harvest Technologies Corp. announced today that the company sponsored 48-patient IDE clinical trial conducted at seven sites in the U.S. and one site in India using the company's Bone Marrow Aspiration Concentrate (BMAC) System to treat patients with non-reconstructable Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI) has completed enrollment. Mark D. Iafrati, M.D. Chief of Vascular Surgery at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, directed the study.

Unique approach to help discover how cell changes shape in response to topographies

Cells in the human body change shape as they crawl, split, or cling to other surfaces, but while the scientific literature is filled with examples of how cell shapes shift in response to things they touch, little is known about the rules that govern these changes. And there has been no high-throughput way to systematically test different topologies against different types of cells to optimize the surface of something like a medical implant.

Occupational therapists address the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, sensory, and other aspects of occupational performance in a variety of contexts to support engagement in everyday life activities that affect health, well-being, and quality of life.
