Weikang anticipates $71 - $82 million revenue for fiscal 2011

Weikang Bio-Technology Group Co., Inc., a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Western prescription and OTC pharmaceuticals and other health and nutritional products in the People's Republic of China, today announced that for fiscal 2011, the Company expects revenue to be in the range of $71 to $82 million, net profit to be $27 to $31 million and earnings per share to be $0.97 to $1.12, based upon 28 million shares outstanding.

French researchers find alcohol's self regard boosting properties

Psychologists led by Laurent Begue at the Pierre-Mendes France University in the south-eastern city of Grenoble carried out an experiment. In the first stage, 19 drinkers, two-thirds of them men, were asked to assess their attractiveness on a scale of one to seven. Their alcohol levels were measured by a breath analyzer, and as expected, the higher the amount of alcohol that had been drunk, the rosier the self-assessment.

Among black men, those with more genetic variants descended from West Africa may have a relatively lower risk of being overweight, obese and diabetic, according to a new study out of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and University of Arizona.
