Massage Envy clinics to donate funds to support breast cancer education

On Tuesday, September 15, at all Massage Envy clinics in the D.C. metro area, you can relax, get healthier, and help in the fight against breast cancer. All 18 area clinics in Maryland, D.C. and Virginia are offering massages at more than half-off the regular price, with $10 from each session being donated directly to area affiliates of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

IMC-RT does not benefit breast cancer patients

After mastectomy, breast cancer patients who receive radiation treatment to the lymph nodes located behind the breast bone do not live longer than those who do not receive radiation to this hard-to-treat area, according to a randomized 10-year study presented at the plenary session, November 2, 2009, at the 51st Annual Meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO).

Study identifies heart failure and stroke as lethal combination

Heart failure and stroke has been identified as a lethal combination in research presented today at EuroHeartCare 2017. Heart failure patients with previous stroke had greater risks of depression, hospitalization and death than those without a history of stroke.
