Vitamin D deficiency can increase risk of COVID-19

Researchers from Israel have found that there could be a link between deficiency of vitamin D and infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Their study titled, "The link between vitamin D deficiency and COVID-19 in a large population," has been released pre-publication at the medRxiv* server.

FDA takes more time to decide on the fate of BMS & Pfizer's joint venture anticlotting drug Eliquis

The U.S FDA have pushed back the deadline for deciding whether to approve an experimental anticlotting drug developed jointly by Pfizer Inc. and Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. The companies said late Wednesday that the Food and Drug Administration has set a new target date of June 28 for deciding whether to approve Eliquis. That's three months later than originally scheduled.

The results of two cluster randomised controlled trials in young asthma patients reveal that regular spirometry and medical review do not significantly affect asthma-related quality of life, report Australian researchers.
