Incyte Corporation publishes clinical trial data of INCB18424 drug for myelofibrosis treatment

Incyte Corporation, Results from a Phase I/II study of Incyte's janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor with the investigational name INCB18424 (also known as INCB018424 and INC424) were published today in The New England Journal of Medicine, demonstrating marked and durable clinical benefits in patients with myelofibrosis.

Quantitative capabilities of Helicos' single-molecule sequencing technology demonstrated

Helicos BioSciences Corporation today announced a publication entitled "Amplification-free digital gene expression profiling from minute cell quantities" appearing on line in Nature Methods co-authored by Dr. Daniel A. Haber and colleagues from Massachusetts General Hospital. The paper demonstrates the quantitative capabilities of Helicos' single-molecule sequencing technology and its potential to reveal important genomic differences when minimal numbers of cells are available for analysis.

Seniors with chronic pain more at risk of falls

Chronic pain is experienced by as many as two out of three older adults. Now, a new study finds that pain may be more hazardous than previously thought, contributing to an increased risk of falls in adults over age 70. The findings appear in the November 25 issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).
