Telephone support after traffic accidents reduces problems and improves quality of life

People who were injured in road accidents had fewer problems and a much higher quality of life if they received a simple follow-up call from a nurse three weeks after being discharged from hospital, according to research in the January issue of the Journal of Clinical Nursing.

Ethypharm, Ampio enter definitive agreement to manufacture Zertane

Ampio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (AMPE), a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company, with repurposed drugs and new molecular entities (NMEs) that treat inflammatory diseases, including osteoarthritis, diabetic macular edema (DME) and sexual dysfunction announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement with Ethypharm Ltd for the manufacturing of Zertane, Ampio's drug for the treatment of premature ejaculation.

Special year-end dividend of $1.00 per share declared by Daxor

Daxor Corporation, a medical instrumentation and biotechnology company, today announced that The Board of Directors has voted to declare a special year-end dividend of $1.00 per share. The dividend will be paid to shareholders of record as of December 10, 2009. The dividend will be paid on Thursday, December 24, 2009.

First Chinese case of case of SARS since January 2004

On April 22, 2004, the Chinese Ministry of Health reported a possible case of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in a 20-year-old woman who works as a nurse in a hospital in Beijing. If confirmed, this will be the first case of SARS since January 2004, when Chinese health authorities confirmed SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV) infection in three persons in Guangdong Province.
