BioMimetic Therapeutics, Inc., today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has tentatively scheduled an Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Devices Panel meeting on May 12, 2011 to review the Company's Premarket Approval (PMA) application for Augment™ Bone Graft for the treatment of foot and ankle fusions in the U.S.
An international team of researchers led by Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) has identified four loci that appear to be associated with decreasing the volume of the hippocampus.
Statins are increasingly prescribed to geriatric patients to stave off premature death from heart disease despite a lack of evidence that this practice benefits older populations.
The Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University announced today that it was awarded a $9.25 million contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to further advance a blood-cleansing technology developed at the Institute with prior DARPA support, and help accelerate its translation to humans as a new type of sepsis therapy.
