Study confirms RMS High-Flo Subcutaneous Needle Sets as 'safety sets'

Results of an Active Controlled Clinical Simulated Use Study confirm that RMS High-Flo™ Subcutaneous Needle Sets are "safety sets," according to the manufacturer Repro-Med Systems, Inc., (REPR.PK) dba RMS Medical Products of Chester, N.Y. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has reviewed the protocol for the study. The needle sets are now known as RMS High-Flo™ Subcutaneous Safety Needle Sets.

Celgene: FIRST trial meets primary endpoint in patients newly diagnosed with multiple myeloma

Celgene today announced that data from the FIRST (Frontline Investigation of lenalidomide and dexamethasone vs. standard thalidomide) trial was presented on Sunday 8 December, during the Plenary Scientific Session at the 55th American Society Hematology annual meeting in New Orleans. FIRST (MM-020/IFM 07-01) a phase III, multi-centre study in patients newly diagnosed with multiple myeloma and ineligible for stem cell transplant, included 72 patients from the UK.

Resolvins may help protect against cognitive decline after surgery

Resolvins are molecules naturally produced by the body from omega-3 fatty acids - a process that can be jumpstarted by common aspirin. In a new study, published in The FASEB Journal, researchers at Karolinska Institutet describe how resolvins could protect against the cognitive impairment that often affects recovery of surgical and critically ill patients.
