New initiative aims to collect samples from schizophrenia patients across the globe

Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM) at the University of Helsinki and The Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at Broad Institute, together with its international partners, are initiating major new sample collections in several regions and countries.

Clinical trial data from Array BioPharma's binimetinib and encorafenib presented at ECC 2015

Clinical trial results from Array BioPharma's wholly-owned MEK inhibitor, binimetinib, and BRAF inhibitor, encorafenib, were presented this weekend at the European Society of Medical Oncology's annual European Cancer Conference (ECC). At the meeting, preliminary data were shared from both a Phase 2 combination trial of binimetinib and encorafenib in BRAF-mutant melanoma patients (LOGIC2) and a Phase 1b/2 combination trial of binimetinib and ribociclib (Novartis, LEE011), a CDK4/6 inhibitor in NRAS-mutant melanoma patients.

Report assessing school-based policies that address the health of students released by AAFA

For over 8 million children with asthma, food allergies and related conditions, the school-house is a focal point for managing their diseases. Now for the second year in a row, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) has released a report assessing school-based policies that address student health for elementary, middle and high schools in all 50 states.

$40 million made available for children's health care enrollment efforts

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced today that states and local organizations can apply for $40 million worth of outreach grants "to enroll more eligible children in health-insurance programs," according to the Wall Street Journal.
